The reference WoW sites are excellent — but their freshness model differs from ours.
| Tool | Freshness model | Typical lag |
|---|---|---|
| wowguilds.com | Continuous pipeline, re-sync on visit + scheduler | minutes |
| Raider.IO | Manual refresh or via in-game addon | hours to days |
| WoWProgress | Updates only after raid logs | days |
| In-game Guild Finder | Static listings, never auto-updated | weeks to months |
Qualitative comparison based on publicly documented models. An automated quantitative comparison is coming.
The visit triggers an immediate re-sync of the guild — its roster, its active members, their ratings.
Every recently visited guild is auto-re-synced, by tier (hot < 24h, warm 1-7d, cold > 7d).
Item level, Mythic+ score, PvP ratings, raid progress, last login — all pulled from the official Blizzard API, with no long cache.
If Blizzard is down or we approach API limits, we gracefully defer instead of cascading failures. See the internal architecture for details.
See for yourself: open any guild page, watch the freshness badge.
